Former Sun Devil Lewis Banda Prowling for Medals, Asian Women
Former Sun Devil Lewis Banda failed to medal in the 200-meter dash. But he plans on returning to Zimbabwe with a consolation prize: a new Chinese bride, if he can find one that is.

Arizona State’s 11-strong Olympic contingent came up short in the medal count this year. But at least one Sun Devil doesn’t plan on leaving Beijing empty-handed.
Lewis Banda, who represented Zimbabwe in the 200-meter dash, has apparently been passing his e-mail address around Beijing in hopes that a potential bride drops him a line. (We imagine him snapping the cards at passersby like a Las Vegas street vendor.)
He’s not particularly picky, except that his future wife “should be tall, natural and friendly rather than too pretty.” This likely stems from the fact that he’s spent the last few years training in Tucson, where the women bring considerably less to the table than those one might encounter at the Sexy Safeway.
Banda’s love of Chinese women apparently stems from repeated viewings of Chinese martial arts movies. This is exactly the reason our girlfriends won’t let us rent Jackie Chan flicks.
Anyway, you can read more of this sordid tale in the Harare Tribune. We now wash our hands of this entry.
