ASU Reloaded: Faster at RB, Slower at WR?
The Sun Devils could have two key members of the team in uniform this weekend. And by “in uniform” we mean in pads and everything, not just a jersey tucked into their blue jeans.

According to the East Valley Tribune, Keegan Herring and Mike Jones are on the fast track to recovery and look like strong bets to play on Saturday. That’s good, considering that we’ve expended considerable cyber-ink on them in the past week or so.
Quoth Dennis Erickson: “They are a lot better. They have two days so they have a lot of time. We’ll see what happens.”
That sounds to us like someone who knows the answer to the question but is playing his cards close to his vest. It’s definitely a preferable approach than that taken by, say, Dirk Koetter who’d probably have replied to such a presumptuous inquiry about injuries that I’ll tell you when I tell you, neener neener neener.
But we digress.
Herring, who didn’t play against NAU, will resume his historic (and, we believe, overlooked) career after recovering from a hamstring pull.
Jones, who caught six passes for 162 yards last weekend, will try not to be caught from behind (twice) against Cardinal defenders who should have a bit more speed than the Lumberjacks. He injured the Achilles tendon in his right ankle in practice this week.
Hopefully, his “breakaway” speed won’t be affected.

I am totally pumped for Herring’s 2008 debut, and I am so glad Jone’s is gonna be playing because its not an ASU sport if you can’t yell out
