Nineteen former Sun Devils kicked off the 2008 season this weekend as members of active NFL rosters. Six others were on practice squads or injured reserve. The list is below, but we want to know which ASU NFLer produced your favorite Sun Devil moment.

Now that Jake Plummer is committed to his professional handball career, we have a feeling the favored moments will be much more diverse. We can’t just lean on Jake hitting Keith Poole alone in the end zone against Nebraska, catching the go-ahead touchdown pass against UCLA, or slithering into the painted rectangle late in the Rose Bowl.

For our money, we’ll take Terrell Suggs throwing Central Florida’s quarterback around like a rag doll before knocking him out of the game while sacking him a third time—in the end zone no less.

So here’s the list. Which of these guys provided you with the best Sun Devil memory? Post your answer in the comments below.

Derek Hagan Miami Dolphins WR 2002-2005
Todd Heap Baltimore Ravens TE 1998-2000

Shaun McDonald Detroit Lions WR 2000-2002
Zach Miller Oakland Raiders TE 2004-2006

  1. I just figured out my Halloween costume for this year. Thanks Jake.

  2. Gotta be Shaun McDonald and Andrew Walter going bombs away all over Oregon in the famous “McDuffy’s Game” in 2002.

  3. Like the previous post, perhaps my all-time favorite regular season ASU game was 2002 at Oregon, with Walter setting the Pac-10 record for yards in a game.

But my favorite single moment from players on this list also has to do with Walter….remember the game-winning touchdown to Skyler Fulton with no time left on the clock at North Carolina???!!!

Like Oregon02, the game at UNC wasn’t on a major network…not sure if it was on TV anywhere in the country. But single moments don’t get any better than this. ASU was whistled for like a record number of penalties, many of which were questionable and the ending was great redemption. Loved watching Regis Crawford put his index finger up to his mouth seconds after the score to “shush” the Tar Heel faithful.

  4. having actually seen almost all these guys play, it is hard to pick, but I;m going to have to go with Todd Heap. He was just so clutch, with to many one hand grabs to even count

  5. Drexel has a great point with the UNC comeback. We were at the game and it was pretty special, even though we only won like four games that season. Todd Heap was a pimp too.

What about Torain dropping his shoulder and plowing through a guy for a first on the fourth-and-short against Wazzu last year? Gotta love college football!

  6. Grey Reugamer. Dude’s crazy.

  7. [...] previously addressed the 19 Arizona State players in the NFL as well as Sun Devils playing prominent roles in fake football. Now, we’ve got a new name to add [...]
