“Well, I won’t back down. No, I won’t back down. You can stand me up at the gates of hell, but I won’t back down.” – Tom Petty
It’s been a busy week around Echo from the Buttes. The men’s hoops team is rolling after pounding Oregon State last night. The women’s team is back in the win column after a three-game losing streak.
Oh, and there was this little football scheduling controversy. If you haven’t been checking out Echo from the Buttes this week, here’s what you’ve missed.
- BYU’s A.D. said our Sun Devils chickened out of our scheduled football contest
- We saluted a pair of defensive gems from both ASU hoops teams
- We tied a bow on the Pac-10 football season and looked at the 2009 Sun Devils
- And we offered a CliffsNotes version on Herb Sendek’s first two seasons at ASU
That’s all for now. We probably won’t be posting the rest of the weekend, so drop your thoughts on the Oregon game in the comments. We’ll be sure to check in and discuss!

So, just got back from the game — and a burrito at the underrated Chronic Tacos — and I must say I was impressed. Three blowouts in four Pac-10 games.
James Harden makes it look so easy, and even the bench guys are getting into the act. AK-47 will have a full report Monday in our weekly hoops update, but if you can’t want to speak your peace drop it in the comments.
We’ll be checking in and happy to discuss! Go Devils!
While Abbott still can’t get any offense going, Kuksiks is on an incredible run from beyond the arc. Another 3-3 today, and 10-18 in Pac 10 play.
