I’m personally indifferent. I had Cardinals season tickets once and they went 4-12. And their whining about Sun Devil Stadium really turned me off. You don’t crash on a buddy’s couch for 15 years and then complain about it being lumpy.
Many thoughts …
- BYU didn’t drop ASU
- ASU’s attendance was going to go down this year even if the economy had stayed strong
- The stadium is a dump; yes, I realize it is better than many other stadiums in the Pac-10 but that says more about the Pac-10 than it does about SDS. The restrooms, concessions, “seats”, entry/exit, high school bleachers in the south end zone, etc. are all bush league. The people who designed SDS ought to be ashamed of themselves – there is so much wasted space – if they ever do decide to put in seats they are going to lose a lot of potential capacity. I’d like to see an ambitious architecture student present a design within the current space – I’ll be a much more efficient model can be presented that allows for 75K real seats.
- ASU is in spin mode – they know they screwed up and they screwed up badly
