If we’ve learned only one thing about ASU hoops this year it is this: they are better than UA!
Open question: Should UA go to the NCAA Tourney anyway? They’re only 19-12 but they have wins over Gonzaga, Kansas, UCLA and Washington. I don’t want them in the tournament, but I’d rather play a team like St. Mary’s or San Diego State than Arizona. Thoughts?
At this point, I’d rather play a team like UA than any of those others. They’re a known commodity, which can’t really be said for at least St. Mary’s. As it stands, with upsets here and there in the final games (e.g. PAC-10, Horizon), we may not have many of these bubble teams to worry about anyhow.
Well, I guess the above means I think Utah has a favorable matchup. Which they do: a 19-13 record means that a team doesn’t know how to win, not that they played a tough schedule or had “quality losses” or whatever.
My friends from the U (and yes, I do have some) are elated at the annual Committee b.s., but at least ASU fans can band together with San Diego State, Penn State, and St. Mary’s fans in wondering why UA gets so much love for so little reason.
