Way back in August, we took a stab at predicting the future of college football. We did a decent job on the Pac-10 pecking order and the Heisman, but we whiffed on one major thing.

Arizona athletic director Jim Livengood has bestowed upon Arizona State fans a wonderful Christmas present this year. The Wildcats are extending the contract of football coach Mike Stoops through 2013. Stoops is averaging five wins per season in Tucson.
