The second game day of the season is now upon us, and after much deliberation, our esteemed panel of experts have reached their conclusions on what their expectations for Arizona State’s road matchup with Texas A&M will be.

I'm worried that Arizona State's tackles will get eaten alive, and Cutter Boley will inevitably make some costly mistakes while running for his life.
Defensively, I expect Brian Ward's unit to do better than anyone expects, but Marcel Reed and these A&M receivers are just too good to keep bottled up forever.
Aggies win, 34-20

The only other time the Sun Devils and Aggies faced each other, it was an unranked Texas A&M team that dealt an early blow to preseason hopes for the Sun Devils. That favor will be returned here in 2026.
As mentioned in our predications segment on the Echo From The Buttes Podcast, I'm looking for Kyson Brown to have a monster day with 200 rushing yards and 3 total touchdowns, sending the Sun Devils home with the upset win.

This game is a massive unknown for me. The key for Arizona State to win is to get the lead early. Kenny Dillingham often likes to defer, but this is a game where I would like to see him receive the opening kickoff.
I expect Aggies quarterback Marcel Reed to have a good but not great game, which should put the Sun Devils in contention. However, I expect Texas A&M to pull away early in the fourth quarter.

Arizona State is going to have a challenge facing Texas A&M on the road. The Aggies have the advantage in home field advantage and Sun Devils head coach Kenny Dillingham said that the team is going to "pray" when facing Marcel Reed. I could see Texas A&M taking this one, 38-24.
