Practice report: Sun Devils prepare for lengthy road trip

TEMPE, Ariz – Arizona State will travel to one of the noisiest stadiums in the country, Kyle Field. The Sun Devils practiced with a lot of background noise as they prepared for No. 10 Texas A&M on Wednesday.

The noise being played on the speakers inside the Verde Dickey Dome was so loud that you could not hear the person speaking next to you. 

The Sun Devils also released their depth chart with no notable changes to it. In practice, the Sun Devils played according to it. Notably, the top left tackle was senior Luke Baklenko.

In 11-on-11s, the first team offense ran two drives. The first one was third-down practice. The second team offense ran one drive, which was third-down practice.

The first team offense saw a couple of plays to senior wide receiver Reed Harris for marginal gains to start. The big play was made by senior wide receiver Omarion Miller, who made a leaping grab on a ball.

The second drive saw a Boley throw out of bounds and a run that was a sizable gain.

The second team offense's one drive was quick. Sixth-year quarterback Mikey Keene threw a pair of incomplete passes at the sideline. Keene completed a pass to sophomore wide receiver Uriah Neloms and junior tight end James Giggey.

Later in practice, the Sun Devils ran three on two’s. Boley and freshman Jake Fette were the quarterbacks. 

Boley threw two touchdowns, one to Miller and one to fifth-year wide receiver, Jalen Moss. Boley’s favorite target was sophomore receiver Raiden Vines-Bright. Boley’s four incompletions were all overthrows in the end zone.

Fette only had one incompletion in his stint at quarterback. He threw three touchdowns, one to Moss, one to senior wide receiver Derek Eusebio and one to senior wideout Jaren Hamilton. Eusebio and sophomore wide receiver Cory Butler Jr. were Fette’s top targets.
