Top 25 Breakdown: Sun Devils earn votes in Week 2 update

After an extended opening week of college football that started in Dublin and ended with a power-affected matchup in Tallahassee, the page can now be turned to some results-based rankings ahead of Week 2. While not carrying as much weight as the Echo From The Buttes Top 25, the AP voters have made their opinions known for the upcoming slate of games.

Four Big 12 teams hold down conference representation in Monday's AP poll, led by conference champion-favorite Texas Tech dropping one spot to check in at No. 13 following their 33-10 win at home over Abilene Christian. BYU (No. 15), Utah (No. 20), and Houston (No. 22) round out those representatives.

The biggest movers of the week have Virginia climbing 21 spots to land at No. 25 coming off a 34-7 win against North Carolina State, while Michigan's controversial last-second win at home against Western Michigan tumbled the preseason No. 16 Wolverines out of the rankings entirely.

The Sun Devils garnered two votes after Saturday's 70-7 win over Morgan State, while upcoming opponent Texas A&M dropped two spots to No. 10 after having the highest FBS vs. FBS net success rate in their Week 1 win over Missouri State.

Arizona State will travel to College Station to face the No. 10-ranked Aggies on Saturday, September 12th. Kickoff from Kyle Field is set for 9am Arizona time, airing on ABC.
